Title:-Directorate of Education, Andaman & Nicobar Administration invited application for recruitment to the post of Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), Graduate Trained Teachers (GTT) and
Primary School Teachers (PST). The candidates eligible for the post can apply through prescribed format before 25 November 2013.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a group of islands at the juncture of the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea, and are a Union Territory of India.
Educational Qualification
• Post Graduate Teacher (PGT): Master Degree from a recognized University or its equivalent in the subject concerned, Bachelor degree in Education from a recognized university or its equivalent, should have studied the concerned subject both under Graduate and Post Graduate level and should have studied in the concerned medium at the Secondary or Senior Secondary or Degree level.
• Graduate Trained Teachers (GTT): Four years integrated course B.A, B.Ed / B.Sc, B.Ed in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks from a recognized University/Institute OR A Bachelor Degree from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 50% marks in the concerned subject. Knowledge of Hindi and should have studied in the concerned medium of instruction up to Secondary level. Pass in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), to be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with Guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose.
• Primary School Teachers (PST): 12th class passed with minimum 50% marks from a recognized Board/Institution and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education. Knowledge of Hindi and should have studied in the concerned medium of instruction up to Secondary level. Pass in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), to be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with Guidelines framed by the NCTE for the purpose.

Age limit
• Post Graduate Teacher (PGT): Male Candidate’s age should be between 18 to 37 years and Female Candidate’s age should be between 18 to 40 years.
• Graduate Trained Teachers (GTT): Candidate’s age should not exceed 30 years.
• Primary School Teachers (PST): Candidate’s age should not exceed 30 years.
• Age relaxation is applicable as per rules.

• Post Graduate Teacher (PGT): PB-2 Rs.9300-34800+GP Rs.4800/-
• Graduate Trained Teachers (GTT): PB-2 Rs.9300-34800+GP Rs.4600/-
• Primary School Teachers (PST): PB-2 Rs.9300-34800+GP Rs.4200/-
Selection Process
Eligible candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in written test/Interview.

• The application complete in all respects along with self attested copies of certificates of educational qualifications, age proof, ST/OBC/Govt. Servant/experience certificates etc and 1 passport size photograph should be sent to the Deputy Education Officer, South Andaman, Middle Point (Near State Library), Port Blair - 744101, Andaman and Nicobar Islands only so as to reach before 25 November 2013.
Candidates can also send application form duly filled in with all requisite testimonials to the respective offices during working hours.
